Andy:

Appreciate passing on the tip...

Just need to correct the record---

I am not (never was) the VP of Marketing --- That position belongs to Judy Cheng.. I am the Director of Customer Satisfaction -- part of the service department.

Best Regards --

Leave it to ClearCom to not only change their URLs again, but require a login to view manuals, AND have a bug with the registration system. I'm gonna see about posting the linked-to manuals locally to fix this crap once and for all. Shouldn't be a copyright issue, since it's clearly fair-use. Stay tuned...

It's on my list to check out, as I've seen it mentioned anywhere, but lately I've been busy learning QLab and--a few days ago--finally getting fed up enough with rebooting to install the demo of Parallels.*

I'm curious, though, since I haven't played much with it, while I'm told it "does a lot more", it's basically a launcher, no? My most common programs are on the dock, and for anything else, I can find it and launch it via Spotlight almost as fast as I can think about it, so what's the benefit? Spotlight's definitely a big change from how I'd run things in XP, but now that I'm used to it, it's awesome to hit cmd+space and then just type the first few letters of the program I want and hit enter :-)

--Andy

*-Of course, I set it up for my Boot Camp partition, which means I can't suspend XP when I close Parallels, so I only gain a little speed/efficiency benefit switching (the benefit comes in being able to run opposing-OS software simultaneously.

Once I sort out the last few quirks (I'm working with Shannon to get ShowBuilder playing nice on Parallels, as the big holdout), I'll probably bite the bullet and convert my Boot Camp partition to an image and just go full-on Parallels. I'd do a separate install, but I don't look forward to the hassle of trying to explain to Microsoft again why I want to authorize an OEM copy of XP, that it's not really a separate machine, blah, blah. I *think* I should be able to convert the Boot Camp partition (which is now dual-authorized both to my native machine and the VM) to an image without trashing the authorization. Right? LOL.
